LEITH THEATRE & THEATERLABOR.DE are proud to present a new journey
Following last year’s actors intensive on WW1 at Leith Dockers Club. We continue on our European Theatre Journey and continue the collaboration with THEATERLABOR
Participants will be expected to participate fully in all classes, and bring along some comfortable clothes, as some classes might be physically demanding. Rehearsals might take place until the late evening.
Classes will include: Warming-up sessions, including voice and movement work. Working with objects, texts and visual material to create a piece of theatre based around “Last Days of Mankind’ By Karl Kraus. This is an amazing text which depicts the entire history of WW1 (1568 Days) all set in a cafe/cabaret called The Vienna Cafe.
Actors should also choose and prepare some music from WW1
songs (cabaret/music hall songs of the 1910s-1930s are possible)
all actors should bring an instrument if the can play.

Due to generous support from Leith Theatre Trust we are able to provide up to ten places on this workshop for free if you live and work in Leith/Edinburgh.
This intensive course is suitable for actors at all levels ; recent graduates and professionals 1568 are dedicated to work with actors who are from all backgrounds and with artistes from other countries and from actors from all diverse backgrounds and we are committed to social inclusivity. .
